Call us at 9am. We verify HealthFirst coverage (usually 5 minutes). You come in within 2 hours. Exam + X-ray are $0 to you. Diagnosis usually root canal or extraction — both fully covered. You leave with the problem fixed and any prescription needed. Total out-of-pocket: usually $0-10.
“I have AmeriGroup and a tooth got knocked out”
Same protocol. Bring the tooth in milk. Emergency exam + reimplantation + splinting + follow-up root canal are all covered. Total out-of-pocket: usually $0-25.
“My crown fell off, I have EmblemHealth Medicaid”
EmblemHealth covers re-cementation fully. New crowns require pre-authorization, which we typically get same-day. If pre-auth is denied for cosmetic upgrades, we can re-cement the original crown (covered) and discuss the new crown options for cost.
“I have MetroPlus and severe facial swelling”
If facial swelling is spreading or you have breathing trouble — go to the ER first (most Medicaid plans include ER coverage). Call us once stable for follow-up dental care.

Do you really accept Medicaid?
Yes — for HealthFirst, Affinity, AmeriGroup, EmblemHealth, and MetroPlus. Many dental offices don’t accept Medicaid because reimbursement is lower than private insurance. We do, because we believe in accessible care for Brooklyn families. About a third of our patient base is on Medicaid.
What if my Medicaid card has a different plan name?
Call us with the plan name on your card. We may still be in-network through a partner arrangement. Some other plans (Fidelis Care, Healthplex) overlap with Medicaid networks in some cases.
Do I need a referral from my primary care doctor?
No, for emergency dental visits you don’t need a referral. Just call us directly.

Can I get a crown with my Medicaid?
